Andrew Bird
I'm listening to Armchair Apocrypha right now. As with most of the other music I listen to, I don't really listen too much to the words, which is not the best practice, I know. Sometimes, it's because the singers slur what they say. Sometimes, it's because the lyrics don't make much conscious sense. In either case, the action of looking up the lyrics and trying to analyze/understand them takes away from the immediate experience of just listening to the music. Sure, music often comes with a message that is integral to what the music is, but the music can be a message in and of itself. To me, Andrew Bird's music is a message of strange possibilities, unexpected complexities, muted exhilaration. Listening to it makes me feel odd, but happy.

Andrew Bird might be the most attractive whistler ever.
