As far as I know, my family members are okay, and none of them live near the epicenter. But Mianyang is the county where I grew up, where my old apartment building might have just collapsed.
My first reaction when the news broke was, My family's probably fine--Sichuan is a big place. And then I realized how big a 7.9 earthquake is.
